VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Radiation Therapist to join our growing Oncology Department (Medical and Radiation) at our well established, multi-specialty veterinary practice in Clackamas, Oregon.

Our state of the art facility was constructed in 1999 and is a fully functioning multi-specialty hospital in Clackamas, Oregon just outside of Portland. Just as in human medicine, we use a Varian Trilogy Radiotherapy System in combination with a CT scan to develop advanced treatment plans (IMRT, SRT) offering state of the art radiation delivery. You will serve as a mentor for our veterinary technicians and support staff, plus be required to educate clients and perform treatments on our veterinary patients.

A little about the position

You would be under direct supervision of our Veterinary Oncologist and administer radiation therapy treatments to our patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accuracy delivering the prescribed dose are paramount job functions. Animal handling will be required. You would support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, which includes the Code of Ethics and business standards.


  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program required.
  • Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years’ experience actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification required.
  • Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy in Oregon.
  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent, but not required.
  • One or more years in specialty practice, oncology specialty favored but not required.
  • Candidate should possess the ability to multitask, handle stressful and emotional situations.
  • Candidate should have a good understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with veterinary pharmacology.
  • Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-started with a professional and positive attitude.
