Position Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of this employee is to assist CUTX in living out its vision to deliver an unexpected experience. To achieve this goal, the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members while answering calls and assisting members with mortgage related products, funding Home Equity loans, along with other mortgage related programs, and some other mortgage related items. The Home Equity Funder/Post Closer works directly with the Home Equity department staff and is responsible for funding all mortgage related programs, prepares the mortgage files for filing/scanning, final review of all HELOC closing documents, and answering any questions about the process.

  13. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of CUTX mission, core values and loan term objectives. Performs job duties within bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.

A Home Equity Funder/Post Closer handles a variety of general functions for the Home Equity Department, including the final loan closing process of home equity loans. These functions include (but are not limited too):

  1. Maintains a closing pipeline assigned for daily funding and workload
  2. Must be able to deal tactfully and courteously with internal and external members and others face to face, over the phone or by electronic communication
  3. Track and review final, signed closing packets from the Title Company/Mobile notaries.
  4. Prepares Home Equity Loan closing documents, and gets the file ready for funding.
  5. Reviews, pre-audits and analyzes the closing packet for accuracy and completeness to ensure that there are no post-closing issues. The
  6. Answers questions regarding closing requirements from other staff, members or departments
  7. Fund any and all CUTX mortgage related products: HELOCs, TML loans, Triad Loans, and any other program we might have.
  8. Must possess strong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily loan volume and fast paced environment
  9. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  10. Must be a team player and work constructively with fellow teammates, member and other employees
  11. Follows up to ensure timely receipt of missing and/or corrected information/documents
  12. Complete any additional duties assigned by Director of Real Estate Lending or Senior Home Equity Processor
  13. Must maintain an active MLO registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing system and Registry (SAFE Act).
  14. Must maintain notary registration

Knowledge of loan policies, procedures, and loan documents to perfect liens on collateral securing loans (Homestead/Real Estate).

The ability to operate Call Management System. Must effectively communicate via telephone with members and other individuals who contact the Home Equity/Real Estate Department.

Good communication skills, using courtesy and proper grammar, to discuss credit union s policies and procedures.

An ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of performance

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of experience in loan processing or funding analysis.

Experience: Minimum 1-2 years or more of similar or related experience.
