Position Purpose and Objectives
The primary purpose of this employee is to assist CUTX in living out its vision to deliver an unexpected experience. To achieve this goal, the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members while answering calls and assisting members with mortgage related products, funding Home Equity loans, along with other mortgage related programs, and some other mortgage related items. The Home Equity Funder/Post Closer works directly with the Home Equity department staff and is responsible for funding all mortgage related programs, prepares the mortgage files for filing/scanning, final review of all HELOC closing documents, and answering any questions about the process.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
A Home Equity Funder/Post Closer handles a variety of general functions for the Home Equity Department, including the final loan closing process of home equity loans. These functions include (but are not limited too):

The ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor, members, and other employees in the organization.
An ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and the ability to compute rates and percentages.
An ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form and the ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of loan policies, procedures, and loan documents to perfect liens on collateral securing loans (Homestead/Real Estate).
The ability to operate Call Management System. Must effectively communicate via telephone with members and other individuals who contact the Home Equity/Real Estate Department.
Good communication skills, using courtesy and proper grammar, to discuss credit union s policies and procedures.
An ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of performance
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of experience in loan processing or funding analysis.
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years or more of similar or related experience.
Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position
Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
Using fingers and palm on an object.
Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently talk or hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms. The employee will occasionally, stand and walk, climb or balance, and stoup, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to use passive vocabulary of 7,000-9,000 words; read at a fast-paced rate; and define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
