The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help Cigna drive the improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna’s ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data. The Cigna Enterprise Data Strategy team is comprised of business and technical teams spanning Customer, Provider, Client (Buyer) and Intermediary (Producer) Data Domains as well as foundational enterprise data teams. The Client (Buyer) and Intermediary (Producer) Data Domains team establishes client and producer data strategies through an Enterprise lens and ensures roadmap delivery for all enterprise client and producer data domain initiatives.

The Master Data Management (MDM) Operations Sr. Manager – Client & Producer Data Domains will be responsible for leading the Data Operations team. Primary responsibilities include: assigning resources to daily activities including any support tickets with data issues, monitoring performance of resources and providing feedback on processes and tools to continuously improve. This is a business-facing role that requires a candidate with leadership skills and a strong data management background who understands data, how to manage data operations and continuously optimize processes. In this role you will be required to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders from the Client & Producer Domains, other domain areas and Cigna resources that interact with Client & Producer Data. As the team manager you are accountable and responsible for managing operations and continuously improving operations efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Operations:  Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, data stewards and operations teams across various application and business domains to perform duties necessary to maintain the integrity of client and producer records and data associated with Client and Producer Master Data Management system, according to established procedures and guidelines. Responsible for the development and management of a clearly defined Operational Model, inclusive of Intake Management, Business Production Support (root cause analysis, driving issue to resolution, prioritization & escalations), Enhancements, and Quality Controls and Reporting (audits)
  • Data Management:  Responsible for maintaining and communicating metrics to gauge the health and quality of the enterprise asset through proactive data monitoring. Uses professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders of known issues and plan for remediation in a timeline that meets business expectations. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert on Client & Producer Data Domains
  • Data Capabilities: Lead execution of standard processes for operations to meet business expectations. Document standard processes and measure performance against SLAs. Propose new capabilities to optimize current processes and deploy best practices. Participate in User Acceptance testing of new capabilities, migration to new technologies, and release management processes
  • Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with data operations/master data management required
  • 5+ years experience as a people manager required
  • 5+ years of experience in a large, diverse data management organization required (Fortune 500)
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, working with Healthcare Client and/or Producer Solutions highly desired
  • Experience optimizing or re-engineering data processes highly desired
  • Proven track record of driving change and teaching/motivating individuals to develop & implement new ways of thinking and doing business preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and data analysis tools/SQL preferred
  • Experience with data catalog and data governance tools preferred
  • Experience with project management methodologies; Agile preferred
  • Experience with Agile Central (Rally, Jira) or comparable agile management tools preferred
  • Experience with master data management tools, such as Reltio or Initiate is desired
